University Awards for September 2010 Entry

The University of Gloucestershire is pleased to be able to reward academic excellence and operates an extensive scholarship programme for all taught students. To be eligible students must be classified as international students and meet the requirements of each award as stipulated below. To ensure that the maximum number of people can benefit from our scholarship programme students can only hold one award. The University also works with external partners to provide additional opportunities for our students.

International Merit Scholarships

The University of Gloucestershire is pleased to offer up to twenty scholarships worth up to 50% of your first year tuition fees. These awards are assessed on the grounds of academic merit and are open to any nationality of student who is an overseas fee payer. The awards are open to undergraduate and postgraduate taught full time students.

If you are interested in applying for one of these awards you will need to complete ascholarship form.Scholarship applications will only be accepted if:

  • you have already submitted an application to a programme of study at the university, or
  • the scholarship application accompanies a completed application form for a programme of study at the university.
The closing date for applications is Friday 18 June 2010.

Terms and Conditions:

1. An International Merit Scholarship applicant must be an overseas fee payer.

2. Applicants must be studying for a full-time bachelors degree or taught masters degree.

3. Scholarship applicants must complete the scholarship application form.

4. Scholarship applicants must have a Student Number, and be applying for undergraduate or taught postgraduate study at the University of Gloucestershire.

5. The closing date for International Merit Scholarship applications to be received by the University of Gloucestershire is Friday 18th June 2010; scholarship applications received after this date will not be considered.

6. Scholarship applications will be considered by a Scholarship Award Panel. The Panel will select their preferred candidates on the basis of their overall scholarship application and UCAS/undergraduate/postgraduate application form. Awards are merit based. The Panel may consider the following aspects: academic performance, English language, merit of Personal Statement.

7. The Scholarship Award Panel’s decision will be finalized in July 2010, and applicants will be notified of the decision on their application by email from August 2010.

8. Certified copies/notarised copies of your highest qualification will be required to verify your results/qualifications.

9. The International Merit Scholarship award is for September 2010 entry only and cannot be deferred to another date of entry.

10. Successful scholarship applicants will be invited to accept their scholarship. Acceptance of a scholarship from the university will be required by 31st August 2010. When the scholarship is accepted, acceptance of the undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of Gloucestershire must be confirmed.

11. By accepting the scholarship, candidates are giving the university permission to use their details for promotional purposes.

12. The decision of the Scholarship Award Panel is final – the university will not enter into any correspondence with unsuccessful candidates regarding their decision.

Scholarship applications will only be accepted if (a) you have already submitted an application to a programme of study at the university or (b) the scholarship application accompanies a completed application form for a programme of study at the university.
